Okinami Kai
Okinami Kai: The very first Okinami released.
The website was not up to the high demand this release generated. Server issues occurred and a lot of people complained about the website. This illustrates the fact that it’s hard to control high peaks in visits while 95% of the time, traffic is relatively low.
Back in 2012 Oscha was in very high demand, there was a very dedicated (growing) fanbase and only a small production, resulting in scarcity and items being in very high demand.
Solo
“Solo lines of colourways and patterns. These are not linked to a Collection, being exclusive, stand-alone editions.”
Okinami
Oscha introduced Okinami at the end of 2012 and it stayed a firm favorite for years. The inspiration for the pattern comes from Hokusai’s ‘The Great Wave off Kanagawa’. Several other patterns are derived from this one. For example: Rei, Kasumi, Sekai. You can see ‘Alto’ clouds in the skies too.
Kai
Kai is a name. It has different meanings in different languages. In Japanese, kai has a number of meanings, including “ocean” (海), “shell” (貝), “restoration” and “recovery”. Source: Wikipedia.
